Grant-Funded AI Implementation
AI implementation doesn't have to come entirely from your budget. We help organisations identify available grant funding, prepare strong applications, and deliver the AI projects that funding pays for.
Funding available for AI projects
There is significant grant funding available for UK organisations investing in AI and digital transformation — particularly in healthcare, manufacturing, and other priority sectors. The challenge is knowing where to look, what you're eligible for, and how to make a compelling case.
- Innovate UK — grant funding for R&D and innovation projects including AI
- NHS AI Lab — funding for AI in healthcare including diagnostics and pathway optimisation
- NHSX / NHS England digital programmes — transformation funding for NHS organisations
- ICB digital transformation funds — regional NHS funding for digital and AI projects
- UKRI — broader research and innovation funding including AI applications
- Local Growth Funds — LEP and Mayoral Authority funding for business investment
What we do
- Funding landscape assessment — what you're eligible for and likely to win
- Application support — framing your project to meet funder requirements
- Technical narrative writing — describing your AI project accurately and compellingly
- Project design — structuring your initiative to meet grant criteria
- Delivery — implementing the AI project once funded
- Reporting — meeting grant reporting requirements throughout delivery
Important note on grant support
We support the application process and deliver the technical work — we don't provide regulated financial advice on funding. Where complex commercial or financial structures are involved, we work alongside your finance and legal teams.
Common questions
What funding is available for AI implementation?
Several UK funding streams support AI adoption in healthcare and regulated sectors, including Innovate UK grants, NHSX Digital Health Accelerator funding, NHSEI transformation funds, and ICB innovation budgets. We help you identify which streams you are eligible for and support the application process.
Can you help us write a grant application?
Yes. We have supported multiple successful funding applications for AI and automation projects. We help with problem framing, solution scoping, impact measurement methodology, and the technical sections of grant applications.
Does grant funding cover the full cost of implementation?
Grant funding typically covers 40–80% of eligible project costs. We scope projects to maximise eligible costs and help structure the remaining contribution. In some cases, even the Operations Reduction Audit — which is free — can be noted as a project initiation activity.
What happens if our application is not successful?
We provide grant support on a fixed-fee basis regardless of outcome — we do not charge on contingency. If an application is unsuccessful, we help identify alternative funding routes or reframe the project for the next funding round.
How long does the grant funding process take?
Innovate UK timelines vary — typically 3–6 months from application to funding confirmation. We advise starting the application process before your implementation start date. Many projects run the Operations Reduction Audit during the application period, funded independently.
Every engagement starts with the Operations Reduction Audit.
No matter what you need from us, the audit comes first. It tells us exactly where you're losing time and money — so we can be certain we're delivering the right solution for your organisation.
